Newhaven Youth Centre

Can you help Newhaven Youth Centre?

SCDA is an independent registered charity and company limited by guarantee working for communities in East Sussex since 1997. They deliver integrated services across East Sussex, meeting the needs of the hardest to reach and helping communities to help themselves. SCDA activities are delivered through integrated work streams with specialist staff including:

  • Denton Island Nursery
  • Community Development: Youth and Families
  • Info & Advice Hub, with Seahaven Food Bank
  • Employability
  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Sussex Community Counselling

They aim to facilitate the voice of young people; coordinate access to services; work in partnership to meet needs; reduce risky and anti-social behaviours; increase skills; improve mental well-being; build community; and have fun. SCDA is a local community provider of sup-port for young people in Newhaven, last year supporting 1,050 young people aged 8-18.

They work alongside young people and partners to deliver a wide range of activities including: drop-in youth information, advice and guidance; youth voice, skills development and peer support; three weekly youth clubs; physical activity sessions; holiday activities; individual counselling; online peer support; and well-being group work. Local secondary schools report we are making a positive difference.
