Newhaven Chamber of Commerce Secretary, Cllr Paul Boswell received 15,000 face masks from the Vietnamese Embassy last week.

The masks were a gift for Newhaven from Vietnam. They recognise our town’s long association with the country. The face masks were presented by His Excellency Tran Ngoc An, Ambassador of Vietnam and were sponsored by VietAir, one of the country’s major national and international airlines.

Chamber president Mike Shorer, Paul Boswell and Annie Lorys have delivered some of the 15,000 face masks to various businesses, surgeries and health centres in and around Newhaven, East Sussex.

The chamber is committed to supporting local businesses at all times, we urge people to shop locally to help these businesses. If there are any other businesses and organisations in Newhaven that could benefit from a donation of masks, please get in touch with the Chamber.

Vietnam has one of the lowest coronavirus infection rates in the world and was one of the first countries to make the wearing of masks mandatory.
