Support for Newhaven teens off to Kenya in 2027.

Businesses invited to support 3 teenagers joining a Camp International Expedition.

At last week’s Newhaven Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting, members were inspired by three young fundraisers: Jacob, Bobby and Ralph. The boys, all best friends since the age of two, shared their exciting challenge to raise the funds needed to take part in a life-changing Camps International expedition to Kenya in 2027.

By the time they turn 15, the trio hopes to spend four weeks in Kenya working on vital community and environmental projects. Their journey will include:

  • Work on vital community projects
  • Support wildlife conservation efforts
  • Take part in cultural exchange
  • Develop leadership, teamwork and life skills

How local businesses can help

The boys explained that much of their progress so far has been thanks to the encouragement and generosity of local business owners. Now, they are reaching out to the Chamber network to ask for further support.

There are several ways businesses can get involved:

  • Raise Awareness – Display posters, share their story with customers, or post about them on social media.
  • Host a Fundraising Event – From bake sales to team-building workshops, every contribution helps.
  • Become a Business Sponsor – For £250, your business will receive your logo printed on each of the boys’ Camps International t-shirts (to be worn at every fundraising event over the next two years and throughout their Kenya expedition). Further promotion as an official sponsor in every social media post about their challenge and journey and promotion via any local or national news coverage regarding the boys and their activities over the next two years.

Make a real difference

Business sponsorship will directly support the boys’ expedition costs which are £3,800 per person and will cover:

✈️ Travel and accommodation
🏠 Building schools and homes
🦒 Wildlife conservation resources
🌱 Empowering local communities

By backing Jacob, Bobby and Ralph, businesses will not only be investing in the futures of three determined young people, but also helping to make a tangible difference to communities in Kenya.
